AJ VELDE CODE FOR
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY

As all AJ Velde work sites encompass the whole block and not just the home or townhouses under construction, compliant with relevant laws, we require the following:

• Enclosed footwear is to be worn at all times

• Hard Hats are to be worn when signs indicate

• Eye & Ear Protection is to be on hand for when nailing tools are in use

• All smokers must move 4m from the boundary of the property where the building is under construction to smoke/have a cigarette.
  No contractors/suppliers are allowed to smoke on our sites during their breaks or whilst working or performing deliveries.

As part of AJ Velde’s Workplace Health & Safety programme, all suppliers and contractors (sub or otherwise) who invoice AJ Velde for any facet of our business to comply by providing AJ Velde with the following information:

• Valid Workers Compensation Certificate (Work Cover)

• Valid Public Liability Insurance

• Valid BSA License for your Trade (Does not apply to Suppliers)

• Work Method Statements for your Trade (Does not apply to Suppliers)

Ultimately you are responsible for your employees and your sub contractor’s safety as well to make sure they are compliant inc. Public Liability, as AJ Velde's relationship is only with the first sub contractor, not your sub contractors. Your licenses and certificates must be kept on you/in your vehicle at all times to have for presentation to workplace health & safety officers.

Suppliers are encouraged to supply a resume or detail of their services, past contracts etc.  Work will be inspected to make sure it complies with out standards.  This can be as long and as detailed as you like, as we are a very finite building company who strives to provide the most stylish and affordable homes on the Fraser Coast, as such our motto is 'The Home of Affordable Quality Construction'.

AJ Velde does not employ any unlicensed, unqualified tradesman or suppliers.  No Exceptions.
